As her reputation as a psychic grows, bartender/medium Billie Culpepper is approached by a young family seeking help with a sinister entity disrupting their home. What she finds upon investigation, however, is much more than a simple haunted house.

Complicating matters further is Billie's upcoming 30th birthday, a local preacher who's convinced she is a force of evil and an ambitious reporter determined to publicly discredit Billie as a dangerous fraud.

While John Gantry returns to England to face his dark past, and Detective Mockler is tied up at work, Billie confronts these challenges alone. Her only ally is the grisly ghost of a child who eternally watches over her.

I enjoyed the whole Spookshow series. Yes, it's kind of lame to post the same review for each novel, but I tore right through them and honestly can't remember which was which - they were all good.

These are good adventure tales populated by people who act in realistic ways when faced with impossible situations. There's no blindly stumbling into danger, or when there is it's because the characters honestly don't understand or can't accept what's going on. Finally, the characters are honestly traumatized by what happens to them, as they should be.

Finally, the best part is what's not there. No shiny vampires. No unsuspecting hero that masters her new powers in the space of one novel. And most importantly: No sappy, unrequited romance. (Yes, there's romance, but they approach it like real people: shy to admit to their feelings at first, insecure about how the others feel, but then they eventually gather the courage to do something about it. No endless, weepy pining.)

Hats off to the author for crafting an engrossing experience and keeping the quality high throughout all the novels. Keep it up!

A Haunting in Crown Point Spookshow 6 edition by Tim McGregor Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

This book like the other's, is like a drug for me. I find myself turning page after page, all the while thinking " God it can't be that close to the end already !?!" You wouldn't be sorry for reading this entire series.
I am a huge paranormal fan. I must say this series has been such an amazing adventure, and is definitely in my top ten ghost list. The characters are very well written and are easy to become attached to. Every book has been unique and I can't wait for more!
Billie's abilities are tested when a woman named Robin comes to her for help. She and her husband have been dealing with an unwanted spirit in their new home. However, her husband and a minister are skeptical and believe she is putting them in more danger. Meanwhile, Billie and Mockler's relationship as a couple grows.
I absolutely LOVE this series. Every book has been developing the character of Billie Culpepper more and more. One of my favorite characters is
the ghost of Thomas. I don't want this series to ever end. Come on Tim, keep clicking away at your computer and give us more Spookshow!!
I truly love this series! You do need to read them in order...well actually, in this order Book 2, Book 1, Book 3, Book 4, Book 5, and Book 6. (Book 2 tells how it really all started; Book 1 just dives right into it). Anyway although the "spooky" part of the book was interesting with Robin and Noah and Maya, I found myself more fascinated about learning more about Billie's family history. I really liked her new-found relative Earl and hope we see more of him in the future. We even learn more about Gantry's family which was good to see another side of him. All in all, "A Haunting in Crown Point" was a good solid story. Looking forward to the next one!
Disappointed as I read books 1 - 5 of the SpookShow and could not put my down until finished. I read all five of those in one night. It took me approximately 3 hours to read each of those. I love the main characters and the author left little loose ends in each of those books that kept you reading & wanting to know more. I was so disappointed in this book it feel like he wrote as a filler until the next book. It was so predictable and I hoped he would answer some unanswered questions. It took me 2 weeks to finish this one and I was tempted not to waste my time. Wish I could tell you I was glad I finished it but I am not...
I read a lot of freebies, but it's rare that I buy ebooks. I bought all but the first of the spookshow series and they were well worth the price.

I'll save the formal book report for a more competent reviewer. Instead, I want to tell you why I happily gave this book five stars.

I love the characters in this book. They are human, full of good and not-so-good. They make sense to me. They're not heroes or demons. Much like a certain little girl in this book, they are doing the best they know with what they have. I feel for every one of them. That's why I love this book. Like much of real life, everyone from the preacher to the littlest girl is doing their best.

Mr. McGregor, thank you for this story.
